Get an inside look at “Good Fire” from artist Saif Azzuz. Saif is a Libyan-Yurok artist who resides in Pacifica, CA. Saif’s pieces, now on view at the Oakland Museum of California, explore our relationships to the land. Inside his studio, Saif shares information about his artistic process, his connections to cultural fire, and his interest in making visible the invisible labor of art-making. “Good Fire: Tending Native Lands” explores how Native communities in Northern California have used controlled fire—also called “good fire” or “cultural burning”—to care for the land and sustain traditions for millennia. Organized in collaboration with Native Northern California fire practitioners, artists, ecologists, and cultural leaders, the exhibition reframes fire as an essential tool for supporting healthy ecosystems and vibrant communities. 📍Now on view at OMCA through May 31, 2026. 🎟We hope you stop by: tickets at the link in bio #GoodFireOMCA #TheOaklandMuseum #IndigenousStewardship #Cult...
