Where to begin, When NIL legislation was approved in July of 2021 I remember how excited I was to capitalize on these new-found opportunities. However the harsh reality slowly set in that as a D3 athlete we were likely the last group of individuals on the minds of major brands. Fast forward nearly two years later, here I am taking home the 2023 Hustle Award presented by Instagram. I’m extraordinarily grateful to be in the position to receive such a prestigious award and hope that it is a signal to all my fellow D3 and smaller market athletes that people care about us and our sports. Thank you to the brands that took a chance on me and gave me the opportunity to represent their businesses, thank you to Amherst College for approving of my work and allowing me to represent our institution, and thank you to all of the athletes in The Make Your Own Legacy Academy for permitting me to carry out one of my greatest passions: education. #MYOL
