“Your ride is here, baby!” Astro-in-training President Barack Obama navigated the CST-100 Starliner simulator to a successful virtual docking of the International Space Station with the help of NASA astronaut Serena Aunon-Chancellor. While navigating the Starliner, POTUS said he felt “tense” from the pressure of commanding a space mission, showing just how real the simulator made the experience. After successfully completing his mission, President Obama said, “Your ride is here, baby!” The Starliner simulator was part of the first White House Frontiers Conference, held at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. The conference, hosted by President Obama, was convened to explore the future of innovation in America and worldwide. Boeing’s Starliner is part of NASA’s Commercial Crew program, which will allow the U.S. to again launch people into space, starting in 2018. #WHFrontiers #POTUS #Boeing #Starliner #CST100 #NASA #spacestation ISS #space #CarnegieMellon
