On April 6, 1924, four modified Navy (usnavy) bombers became Douglas World Cruisers, as they left Sand Point - then Seattle's Municipal Airport.
Their mission was to become the first airplanes ever to fly around the world. This aircraft "Seattle II," is a reproduction of the command aircraft and has several parts from the original 1924 aircraft “The Seattle”. Shown her is the "Seattle II", with owner Bob Dempster, from our
#Boeing100 celebration at the Museum of Flight (museumofflight).
