Idaho National Guard Soldiers, Airmen and their active duty Air Force mhafb_gunfighters and Navy Reserve counterparts joined forces for a mass casualty combat exercise, Feb. 1-4, near Gowen Field, Boise, Idaho. Red smoke was used to conceal movements as they defended their medical structures and personnel while conducting Tactical Combat Casualty Care on the battlefield. During the exercise, Soldiers, Airmen and Sailors tested their ability to perform medical care on patients on the battlefield, in the medical tents and on UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters while under mental and physical stress.
