A handful of Idaho National Guard personnel, along with Lt. Gov. Janice McGeachin and many other members of the community, had the distinct privilege of joining Emil Reich as he received the French Legion d’Honneur by French Consul General Lebrun-Damiens. Reich, who is 99 and lives in Boise, received France’s highest award for his efforts in World War II after landing on the shores of Normandy on D-Day. He was previously awarded the Purple Heart for injuries suffered on the battlefield. #thisisboise #idaho #boiseidaho #boise #purpleheart #idahoveterans #legionofhonor #legiondhonneur #wwii #worldwar2 #honor #antitank #veterans #hero #thankyouforyourservice #france
