October 14th is National Dessert Day and desserts are typically something we wouldn’t have in our print shop. No, the ink is not edible! However, Jared printed something that is new, at least to our print shop. For today, Jared letterpress printed a small photo engraving depicting a birthday cake and a balloon. This was recently acquired with an assortment of engravings from eBay. The text below, set in 24 point Caslon font, states, “National Dessert Day.”This was printed with black rubber base ink using our Washington hand press which was made in 1852. #SacHistoryMuseum #NationalDessertDay #birthdaycake #museumtok #printing
