We like to find “national holidays” online as an excuse to highlight or print many of the historic cuts or materials in our Print Shop exhibit at the Sacramento History Museum. Today is a good example of that because July 18th is National Tropical Fruit Day! For today, Howard letterpress printed an electrotype (copy of a woodcut) from the Stockton High School Print Shop Collection. The print depicts a basket of fruit with a pineapple predominantly displayed on top. This was printed with black rubber base ink using our Washington hand press, which was made in 1852. #SacHistoryMuseum #NationalTropicalFruitDay #tropicalfruit #fruit #museum #History #sacramento #letterpress #printingpress #asmr #printing
