July 10th is National Kitten Day! While we don’t have any letterpress cuts of adorable kittens, we do have some peculiar cats in the Lewis Winter Collection. For today, Howard letterpress printed an electrotype (copy of a woodcut) that depicts a blinking cat that was made sometime in the 1890s. This was printed with red, white, and blue ink on yellow paper using our Washington hand press, which was made in 1852. #nationalkittenday #kitten #kittens #cat #cats #arttok #sacramento #museum #History #letterpress #printingpress #asmr #printing
