As part of new temporary exhibit, “Earthquakes to Epidemics: Disasters Past and Present,” we have partnered with the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services to include how Californians can prepare for the next disaster, specifically earthquakes. The Sacramento History Museum is hosting with Cal OES an emergency preparedness event on Saturday April 5, 2025, from 11am-3pm just out front of our Museum. Visit to ride the Earthquake Simulator to experience a 7.0 earthquake, learn how to prepare for ‘the big one’ and what Sacramento can expect if an earthquake were to happen. Gather information on what to keep in an emergency “go bag,” and what to pack in case of evacuation. Learn how to be prepared for emergencies and meet the organizations that can help you and your families. In this video, Shawn and Jon Gudel from Cal OES discuss the “Earthquakes to Epidemics” exhibit and discuss our upcoming April 5th event. #SacHistoryMuseum #NewExhibit #sacramento #oldsacramento #History #mu...
