March is Women’s History Month and we at the State Indian Museum would like to celebrate three remarkable Native American women whose lives and work left a lasting mark on California and also here at the museum. Through their artistry, leadership, and dedication to community, each helped shape the stories and traditions that continue to live on here today. In this video, Travis discussed Mabel McKay, Marie Potts, and Elsie King-Gillespie and how they have left a lasting impact on the California Native community and the State Indian Museum. The State Indian Museum is located at 2618 K Street in Sacramento, California and is open 7 days a week from 10am to 5pm. #WomensHistoryMonth #NativeHistory #stateindianmuseum #castateparks #sacramento
