If you visit our park grounds, you will see a variety of California native plants and, while many are dormant in the winter, some grow fruit only this time of year. In this video, Theresa discusses the rose hips on the California wildrose plants which can be found around the pond on the park grounds of the State Indian Museum and Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park. Theresa also discussed the plant’s distinctive characteristics, how it grows, and traditional California Native uses. While the rose hips are bright and edible, we save them for the park’s wildlife. #castateparks #nativeplants #suttersfort #stateindianmuseum #sacramento
