November 30th this year is Small Business Saturday. Consider shopping small and shopping locally this holiday season. There are a lot of local small businesses right here in Old Sacramento! Tomorrow, December 1st, is Museum Store Sunday! Consider supporting your local museum when getting gifts for family and friends. For today, Alex S. letterpress printed “SHOP LOCAL” in 30 line pica wood type. The typeface is French Clarendon and the type was made by the Hamilton Wood Type Company in the late 1880s. This was printed with purple ink using our Washington hand press, which was made in 1852. #smallbusinesssaturday #MuseumStoreSunday #holidayseason #typography #museum #History #sacramento #letterpress #printingpress #SacHistoryMuseum #printing
