August 15th is National Leathercraft Day! This day honors the artistry, skill, and heritage of leatherworking. For today, Howard letterpress printed a hand carved woodcut from the Lewis Winter Collection. This was made 125-135 years ago and it depicts a tracing wheel, which creates evenly spaced perforations or marks on the leather’s surface and guides where stitches should be placed.
