We are celebrating our 40th anniversary this week! On August 3, 1985, the Sacramento History Museum, then called the Sacramento History Center, opened to the public. Our museum is housed in a reconstruction of Sacramento’s City Hall & Waterworks building, which was originally built in 1854 at the same location.
To celebrate our anniversary, Jared letterpress printed an image from a modern photo engraving based on a lithograph of the Waterworks building from 1857. This was printed using a 4x6 Golding Official #2 tabletop printing press. About 80 prints were printed on this press run using black rubber base ink.
Stop by the Sacramento History Museum this week for this commemorative print. For our anniversary, we are offering this month Family Memberships for $40 for the year. It’s a great way to support our museum!
