Happy 40th birthday to us! On August 3, 1985, the Sacramento History Museum, then known as the Sacramento History Center, opened in Old Sacramento. For today, Jared letterpress printed a modern photo engraving of our building. Our museum is housed in a reconstruction of Sacramento‘s City Hall and Waterworks building that was originally constructed at the same site in 1854. The text below states, “Happy 40th anniversary to the Sacramento History Museum!” and it was typeset in 30 point Caslon font. This was printed with yellow oil base ink using our Washington hand press.
