This week, our museum celebrates our 40th anniversary! On August 3, 1985, the Sacramento History Museum, then called the Sacramento History Center, opened to the public. Our museum is housed in a reconstruction of Sacramento’s City Hall & Waterworks building, which was originally built at the corner of Front and I Streets in 1854.
To celebrate the anniversary of our opening, Jared letterpress printed an image from a modern photo engraving based on a lithograph of the Waterworks building from 1857. This was printed using a 4x6 Golding Official #2 tabletop printing press. About 75 prints were printed on this press run using reflex blue rubber base ink.
From all of us at the building tucked away in the northwest corner of Old Sacramento, thank you for subscribing, watching, and supporting the Sacramento History Museum! Stop by this Sunday, August 3rd, to pick up this complimentary print and admission to the Museum that day is only $4!
