April 8th is National Draw A Bird Day, but why draw one when you can print one? For today, Jared letterpress printed an image from an electrotype (copy of a woodcut) from the Al from New Jersey Collection. This cut was recently gifted to us by Al. The image from the cut depicts a large male turkey. This was printed with black rubber base ink using our Washington hand press, which was made in 1852. #SacHistoryMuseum #DrawABirdDay #birds #bird #sacramento #museum #History #letterpress #printingpress #printing
