June 7th is National Black Bear Day! This day, observed on the first Saturday in June each year, ecognizes the most commonly found bear in North America. We typically use black ink in our videos, but with a different ink color, this still works as black bears can have some variations. For today, Jared letterpress printed an electrotype, made roughly 80-90 years ago, from the Bill Gaylord Collection. This was printed with PMS 7533c (Pabrine 491) rubber base ink using our Washington hand press. • • • #NationalBlackBearDay #blackbear #bear #electrotype #art #powerofthepress #SacHistoryMuseum #sacramento #museum #history #letterpress #printingpress #printing #oldsacramento #printmaking
