March 31st this year is Easter Sunday and Jared letterpress printed a great electrotype (a copy of a woodcut) for this occasion. This is part of a collection of about 50 unmounted (has to be attached to a block of wood to make it type high) cuts made by the National Engraving Company in New York City in the 1930s. These were originally used for advertising purposes for the Hayward Machine Workshop in Hayward, California. This was printed with green rubber base ink using our Washington hand press, which was made in 1852. From all of us at the Sacramento History Museum, happy Easter to those who observe the holiday! #SacHistoryMuseum #easter #easterbunny #happyeaster #eastergreetings #eastersunday #sacramento #museum #History #letterpress #printingpress #printing
