May 16th is National Bike To Work Day! This day, the third Friday in May, helps to promote healthy living and safer transportation for those commuting to work. For today, Howard letterpress printed an image from a very small electrotype (copy of a woodcut), made about 125-135 years ago, from the Lewis Winter Collection. The image depicts a dog riding a penny farthing and the dog seems to be in a hurry. This was printed with black rubber base ink using our Washington hand press. • • • #NationalBikeToWorkDay #BikeToWorkDay #bike #bicycle #cycling #dog #dogs #art #powerofthepress #SacHistoryMuseum #sacramento #museum #history #letterpress #printingpress #asmr #printing #oldsacramento #printmaking
