At the Sacramento History Museum, we’ve had the pleasure of sharing Sacramento history with so many people on social media. Now we have the opportunity to connect our city to one of our sister cities! Alex, who is a Public History graduate student at California State University, Sacramento, is studying abroad in Matsuyama, Ehime in Japan! Matsuyama and Sacramento have been sister cities for over 40 years. Through videos and posts, Alex will highlight the similarities between our cities. In this video, Alex discusses the project while letterpress printing “Matsuyama in Japan” using 15 line wood type made by the Hamilton Wood Type Company in the 1880s. This was printed with black rubber base ink using our Washington hand press. #SacHistoryMuseum #sacstate #sacramentostate #matsuyama #typography #sacramento #museum #History #letterpress #printingpress #asmr #printing
