Mother’s Day is approaching and if you’re looking for a nice letterpress printed greeting card for your mom, we have you covered! Check out our museum store for details. In this video, Jared letterpress printed a Mother’s Day greeting card with purple oil base ink using a 3x5 Kelsey Excelsior tabletop printing press. The text on the front of the card states, “I’m lucky to have a mom like you!” It was typeset in 36 point Cheltenham Bold Italic font. The image of a person holding a lucky horseshoe is from an electrotype made in the 1930s. The back of the card includes an image of a Washington hand press and the words “Printed at the Sacramento History Museum.” Fifty cards were printed in this press run! • • • #MothersDay #mothersdaygreetings #oddlysatisfying #greetingcard #art #powerofthepress #SacHistoryMuseum #sacramento #museum #history #letterpress #printingpress #asmr #printing #unintentionalasmr #printmaking #oldsacramento
