April 18th is International Day for Monuments and Sites. Also known as World Heritage Day, this international observance, started by UNESCO in 1983, is held each year to promote the preservation of monuments and heritage sites. For today, Howard letterpress printed an image from a hand carved woodcut from the Lewis Winter Collection. Made roughly 125-135 years ago, the image depicts a couple gravesite monuments. We are not sure the original intended purpose of this woodcut.
