Looking for a last minute Easter greeting card? We have you covered as this card is hot off the press and available in our museum store! In this video, Jared letterpress printed Easter greeting cards using a 3x5 Kelsey Excelsior tabletop printing press. The ink is green rubber base ink and the image is of an Easter bunny, some eggs, and a building behind that says “MACHINE SHOP.” This is part of a collection of about 50 unmounted (has to be attached to a block of wood to make it type high) cuts made by the National Engraving Company in New York City in the 1930s. These were originally used for advertising purposes for the Hayward Machine Workshop in Hayward, California. The back of the card includes an image of a Washington hand press and the words “Printed at the Sacramento History Museum.” • • • #easter #easterbunny #greetingcard #ink #typography #powerofthepress #unintentionalasmr #SacHistoryMuseum #sacramento #museum #history #letterpress #printingpress #asmr #printing
