January 12th is National Pharmacist Day! Today recognizes and promotes the role of pharmacists in improving the health of others. For today, Jared letterpress printed newspaper advertisement from the early 1970s. This photo engraving is of a consumer advice column by Sidney Margolius. As a pioneer in consumer reporting for over 40 years, Margolius’ advice columns appeared in over 100 newspapers across the United States in the 1960s and 1970s. This piece he made is on generic drugs and how to talk with your pharmacist about getting their prescriptions over costlier name brand medications. This cut is from the Brett from Pennsylvania Collection, a collection of cuts we recently received from one of our followers.
