March 17th is St. Patrick’s Day! The woodcut selected today is actually one of the newer woodcuts we have. It’s one of the newer cuts because this was made almost three years ago by one of our followers, Mark, from Saskatchewan, Canada! The woodcut Mark laser cut for our museum was made in response to a video we filmed for St. Patrick’s Day in 2022 when we said we didn’t have any St. Patrick’s Day related materials at the museum. Thank you, again, Mark for this wonderful gift! The print includes a leprechaun and shamrock. The text reads, “May the road rise up to meet you…at the Sacramento History Museum.” This saying is obviously in reference to the Irish blessing, “May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back.
