Do you like this print? Yay or neigh? December 13 is National Horse Day! For today, Jared letterpress printed an image from an over 125 year old electrotype (copy of a woodcut) from the Lewis Winter Collection. This cut depicts a horse’s head and bridle. You can faintly see “L. Winter” engraved at the bottom of the print. This cut is unmounted so it had to be placed on a block of wood to make it type high in order to print. This was printed with red pepper oil base ink using our Washington hand press. • • • #NationalHorseDay #horse #horses #SacHistoryMuseum #sacramento #museum #history #letterpress #printingpress #asmr #printing #red #printmaking #oldsacramento
