Two years ago, at the end of September, was an upsetting day at the Sacramento History Museum when Alex’s internship concluded and he returned home to Belgium. He ended his internship by printing “ALEX OUT!” with ouu Washington hand press. Alex is now back though! He will be with us for 18 months assisting with educational school programs, tours, events, social media, and apprenticing in the print shop with Jared! In this video, Alex announced his return by printing “ALEX IN!” with 30 line pica (5 inches) French Clarendon font wood type. This type was made in the late 1880s by the Hamilton Wood Type Company. This was printed with opaque white rubber base ink on black paper using our Washington hand press. • • • #sachistorymuseum #typography #sacramento #asmr #museum #museumlife #publichistory #printingpress #printing #letterpress #visitsacramento #oldsacramento #oldsac #belgium #art #printmaking
