September 19th is Talk Like A Pirate Day! For today, Howard turned to the largest wood type that we have in our print shop exhibit at the Sacramento History Museum to share his favorite pirate related joke. This large letter C is 30 line pica (5 inches) and is of the French Clarendon typeface. This piece of type was made in the late 1880s by the Hamilton Wood Type Company in Two Rivers, Wisconsin.
