It doesn’t get more Sacramento related than this! The Sacramento City Council has declared September 16th as 916 Day! The number is important to those in the Sacramento, California area because 916 is our area code. For today, Howard letterpress printed “916” using 12 line pica sized wood type in the Latin typeface. This type was made over 120 years ago by the Hamilton Wood Type Company. This was printed with black rubber base ink using our Washington hand press, which was made in 1852 by the Charles Foster & Brother Company in Cincinnati, Ohio. • • • #916Day #916 #typography #history #sacramento #museum #letterpress #printingpress #printing #asmr #printmaking #oldsacramento #visitsacramento #downtownsac #sachistorymuseum
