On May 8, 1886, the beverage Coca-Cola was invented by Dr. John Pemberton Stith and sold the first glass at Jacobs' Pharmacy in Atlanta, Georgia. Unlike sarsaparillas in the era, Coca-Cola was not invented as a medicine. This anniversary is observed yearly as Have A Coke Day. In honor of today, Howard letterpress printed a small cut of one of his favorite beverages and discussed how Coke bottles used to be when he was a kid. This cut is from the Stockton High School Print Shop Collection and was made in the late 1950s-1960s. This collection contains a lot of old company logos. #SacHistoryMuseum #haveacokeday #onthisday #cocacola #coke #sacramento #museum @Coca-Cola
