Happy 70th birthday, cbssacramento! On September 6, 1954, KOVR 13 went on the air for the first time and continues to broadcast to this day. The news studio was originally in Stockton with a transmitter atop Mount Diablo. KOVR 13, also known as CBS 13, is the oldest continuously operating television station in Sacramento, California. For today, Jared letterpress printed “HAPPY BIRTHDAY KOVR 13” using 15 line and 30 line wood type of the French Clarendon typeface. This woodtype was made in the late 1880s by the Hamilton Wood Type Company. This was printed with black rubber base ink using our Washington hand press. • • • #SacHistoryMuseum #onthisday #todayinhistory #thisdayinhistory #kovr #cbssacramento #typography #woodcut #museum #sacramento #history #letterpress #printingpress #printing #oldsac #oldsacramento
