March 1st is National Pig Day! In honor of today, Howard letterpress printed two electrotypes (a copy of a woodcut) that were made about 130 years ago. These are from the Lewis Winter Collection and you can even see “L. Winter” on the larger print. These cuts depict an old nursery rhyme that was first published in “The Famous Tommy Thumb’s Little Story-Book” in 1760. The first 3 words are “This little piggy” but you know the rest. #NationalPigDay #pig #pigs #SacHistoryMuseum #museum #letterpress #printing
