The California State Legislature returns this week at the State Capitol here is Sacramento. In honor of this week, Jared letterpress printed, using our Washington hand press, an electrotype of the State Capitol building in the 1890s. This cut is from the Lewis Winter Collection and was made over 125 years ago. The print includes Winter’s name in the bottom left corner. Also discussed in the video are the different capitals in California’s history. The Capitol grounds today definitely look different than what was depicted in the print! #SacHistoryMuseum #museum #sacramento #sactiktok #letterpress #printing #statecapital
