Early Sacramento’s politicians and citizens dueled with whatever weapons they could get their hands on. Learn all about historic sword duels with the Sacramento Historical Fencing Academy on Saturday, February 3, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. Using 19th Century texts as study, the sacramentohistoricalfencing will be demonstrating reconstructed martial arts techniques focused on swords play in the Sacramento History Museum. You can learn the history of and get a close look at techniques with Scottish broadswords, as seen in TV shows like Outlander, as well as Spanish rapiers in the style of “La Verdadera Destreza.” This event is included in Sacramento History Museum admission, and as an added bonus, kids are free! • • • #fencing #sacramentohistory #sacevents #oldsacramento #oldsac #downtownsac #hereinsac #sachistorymuseum
