Today the Queen of Soul has sadly passed away #RIPArethaFranklin "We are deeply saddened by the news of Aretha’s passing this morning. As we reflect on Aretha’s legacy, we see a woman with extraordinary talents whose gospel and bluesy song delivery laid the groundwork for so many artists today. From ‘I Say A Little Prayer’ to ‘Think’ to her signature classic ‘Respect,’ Aretha Franklin was a musical phenomenon and an iconic figure in black culture.” Said Scott Mills, President of BET Networks. "Just four years ago, BET honored Aretha at BET Honors with the Musical Arts Award for her soaring contribution to our culture. She accepted graciously before bringing down the house with her heartfelt performance of Sam Cooke’s “A Change is Gonna Come,” in honor of Nelson Mandela. We will remember and miss her dearly.” SUBSCRIBE to #BET NOW! ►► bit.ly/1U0v9xG Download the BET NOW app for full episodes of your favorite BET shows and exclusive content!
