FAREWELL FLAMINGO! . . I launched my brand 5 years ago, after leaving behind my corporate career and a Coercive Controlling relationship with an addicted gambler, during which I lost the house I owned, all my money and all my self esteem. . . When I started painting again, I found myself painting flying birds in vivid colour, as they represented me flying free from all the hell and trauma of the past. This pink flamingo was one of the 1st I painted and became the iconic design in my debut collection, which made the launch of my brand such a success. In fact it sold so fast at heals_furniture that I did an interview for Radio 4 about the phenomenon of the pink flamingo trend! This design helped me rebuild my life. . . But now it’s time to say farewell and discontinue the flamingo cushions and lampshades in both the pink and orange colourways.
