I was looking through some old photos at the weekend and came across pictures of an apartment I designed a couple of years before I launched my brand or had even designed a single product! It’s amazing how things come full circle, because it’s actually the apartment of the owner of Komodo, the ethical fashion label, who I’ve just done my t-shirt collaboration with. From the moment I saw the 3 bedroom apartment for the first time I had 2.5 weeks to design, source and install the whole thing. And he had NOTHING. I mean literally nothing, NO furniture, no accessories, no kitchenware - and the apartment also needed new floors, new electrics, new window treatments, etc. Also, the brief was that he wanted as much as possible in the apartment to be upcycled or preloved.
