So, this morning I set off for the school run and the shop only to remember I’d left our new baby guinea pig on the bathroom shelf at home! (You may well ask why he was there in the first place). This was the culmination of an ‘interesting’ morning, during which I had to literally drag my boy out of bed to sobs and enormous protest to get him to school after being off sick for three days (the big grins on both his and his friends’ faces at the bus stop were enough to make me think I’d done the right thing); pack my daughter up for two days of sleepovers and dance rehearsals, frantically trying to find stuff in boxes that we still haven’t unpacked after moving house and then discovering that her oboe has a broken reed, so she won’t be able to play it in her music lesson today anyway; and finally only managing to eat a leftover custard cream for breakfast - as I was getting the kids to the bus stop 😂 A fairly typical morning of comedy and tragedy in the life of a single parent with a bu...
