True mercy and perfect justice come together through Jesus Christ. Alma 42:15 teaches us that “God himself atoneth for the sins of the world, to bring about the plan of mercy, to appease the demands of justice.” Because of Jesus Christ’s Atonement, we are not left alone to face the consequences of our mistakes. His sacrifice satisfies justice while extending mercy to all who turn to Him with faith and humility. When we choose to follow Him, we experience both the peace of being forgiven and the strength to become better. His mercy doesn’t erase justice—it fulfills it with love.
