Have you ever felt discouraged when trying to share the gospel?
The Book of Mormon prophet Alma followed the Lord’s prompting when preaching the gospel to the people of Ammonihah. Yet he faced rejection and many adversities while trying to do so. When he felt “weighed down with sorrow” (Alma 8:14) from this rejection, an angel of the Lord urged him to return to the city of Ammonihah and preach unto them again.
Although discouraged, Alma was “faithful in keeping the commandments of God” (Alma 8:15) and returned to this people, where God provided a way for him to preach His gospel. God led Alma to Amulek, a fellow disciple, who provided him with shelter and food.
Like Alma, God will always provide a way for each of us. As we strive to serve God and share His gospel, we can trust that God will guide and support us in our efforts and will help us overcome those difficult circumstances.
