Proverbs 3:5–6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” In the Book of Mormon, the brother of Jared trusts God to help him find a way to light the barges so his family doesn’t have to travel to the promised land in darkness. He shows such great faith that he is even allowed to see the Lord. The brother of Jared says, “We know that thou art able to show forth great power, which looks small unto the understanding of men” (Ether 3:5).
