We work 24-hour shifts & respond to calls of service at all hours of the day. Engineer Kredell, of Ladder 209-B Shift, shared his Fitbit data for the early hours of New Year’s Day. His resting heart rate went from 55bpm to 133bpm in seconds when he was awakened by the tones to respond to a 911 call. #Firefighters train for fitness but we also train to manage stress reactions. We increase our focus and slow down our breathing to help keep the heart rate manageable and #ourhearts healthy.
