🚨Demonstrators with Just Stop Oil (JSO) smashed the protective glass covering Diego Velazquez’s painting Rokeby Venus at the National Gallery in London on Monday, November 6. Video taken by JSO shows two members approaching the painting and hitting the glass. One of them says, “Women did not get the vote by voting. It is time for deeds, and not words.” The same 17th-century painting was slashed by the suffragette Mary Richardson in 1914, during the fight for women’s voting rights.
