🖤It's been a month since a white supremacist shot up the Gilroy Garlic festival, targeting innocent people enjoying time with their families - about the amount of time people start forgetting (especially since it was overshadowed with two more mass shootings the next week) but not a day has passed where I haven't thought about what happened that Sunday. It hit particularly hard because one of the victims that died was the 13 year old niece of my friend. Watching her plan the vigil and funeral for her niece instead of preparing to start law school (& as a first generation college student like me!) has completely broken my heart. . . I'm calling out to my community to uplift my friend in this time of need - to not forget her or her dreams.
