This legend passed away six years ago today. The Big Horse, Shared Belief, ironically was not big in stature, but larger than life on and off track. He was beloved by the those who spent time with him and by his many fans. And universally respected by those throughout the game. Ranked as the number one thoroughbred in the world and number one in our hearts. Sure, cheesy as hell, but this was one awesome and fierce competitor. Some of the most surreal and saddest moments of my entire life revolved around the Champ. I love and miss the Big Horse fiercely even now. I have never been around one like Shared Belief and know I never will again. So fortunate to have had him in our lives but what I’d give to have just five more minutes with him.
