Today in #ArtofRhyme we had so many things to discuss!! I brought in J. Cole's "1985" from his new album, KOD and asked students how they interpreted it. This sparked conversation about racism, who gets famous and why, making money vs. making an impact, etc. This led into other conversations about rappers like Lil Pump and Kanye West sparking the question if one can and should separate an artist from their art? The students were so engaged in the debate that we didnt even end up writing raps this week.
