This year, 8035musicfest had plans of introducing a first-of-its-kind cannabis consumption lounge in collaboration with Bud and Mary's Cannabis. The lounge wasn't a cannabis free-for-all, however, and was created specifically for festival attendees with a medical marijuana card to consume local products in a safe spot. Products would have to be purchased from a licensed dispensary in the state of Iowa in advance, and no products were to be sold at the festival. But, on Tuesday, 80/35 released an update saying that after, " further conversation with relevant stakeholders and careful consideration," the on-site cannabis lounge will not be introduced to 80/35 this year. There will still be a budmarycompany tent at this year’s festival, and 80/35 encourages attendees to learn about the work being done across the state of Iowa around medical cannabis.
