"Finding acceptance in yourself is a journey everyone has to take, let alone having people tell you how to look, act and feel. We need more opportunities where we feel enough and free. Every skin tone and curve should be embraced. Not one is less, not one is more. In this shot we decided to do something experimental and creative. I wanted to choose these colours to show the confidence in her personality and show the development of her character throughout the shoot. When shooting I understood the importance of having a rapport between you and your subject, allowing there to be a safe space to feel comfortable in their own skin. That is why I find having a camera that is not too obtrusive is perfect. When editing I wanted to keep this in mind and portray how with every shot more of her personality came out.
